Farewell. This scene should be edited along with Laborious Work so that the two scenes could happen simultaneously.

Planet Earth.

A birthday cake. NOA, HICHIROU and YUUMA sing "Happy Birthday" to you and start claping their hands. HICHIROU blows the candles. Above the table, a kind of tablet showns KEN with is vital signals in suspended animation inside is pod at CHO. HICHIROU says "Happy Birthday Daddy!". They are all a little older now. HICHIROU is around 20 years. "I wounder if he has any idea of the passage of time", says HICHIROU. "No way", says YUUMA, "suspended animation is unlike anything else, there's not even the conscience of sleeping, much less the passage of time". "Have you ever tried suspended animation?", asks HICHIROU. "Yes, I did", answers YUUMA, "I was your fathers backup, if he didn't accepted or was not fit for the mission, right now it would be me lying there, looking like a charming prince sleeping". HICHIROU says "I wish he wasn't fit then". "Don't say that, your father is a hero", said NOA. "A hero I only see on a monitor, sleeping, since I was eight years old, he's that being a hero?", asked HICHIROU. "I miss him too, son", said NOA, "don't think that is not hard for me also".

The spaceship CHO shows some screens doing calculations and probabilities for the best place to drop the next pod. It "entertains the viewer" with sounds, circles for planets, lines of sign to other pods, gravitacional fields, interest of the place, etc. Then the screens plot a new course to the best place to drop the pod. Meanwhile, while all this "action" goes on the screens, KEN sleeps, iluminated by the various colors of the screens.

Back to Earth and some years later.

YUUMA is at his home, lying in bed. He's now very old. He picks up some kind of tablet and the screen splits itself in three panels. On the left panel, KEN with his regular vital signs, in suspended animation. On the central panel, the selfie of KEN and YUUMA minutes before the mission begun, on the right panel, YUUMA and his vital signs. "Thats right, my friend, I'm dying", says YUUMA, "I had a great life, not as long as yours but still a life worth living. And we made quite a team, hum? But now its time to go, to follow the rest of my journey in dead animation. Take care, my friend". The camera keeps focused on the tablet. While KEN's signals are regular, YUUMA's breathing and signs start to become irregular. We see YUUMA watching himself to the kind of gadget. We see is fingers grabbing it. Then we see YUUMAS signals stop and the fingers opening and the gadget falling from the bed to the floor. The right panel is black. KEN's screen and the selfie remain there.

At the hospital, we see a 60 year-old HICHIROU leaving a room with tears in his eyes and turn to his wife and two sons. His wife hugs him, says "I'm so sorry, dear. At least has she left in peace?". "She kept calm until the end, close to the end she asked to see my father, so we both stood watching him sleep while she started to fade, then, just before life left her, she murmured to my father's image 'damn you, you took my life with you', she took a deep breath and died.

We repeat more or less the same scene shown before. The spaceship doing it's laborious work, KEN suspended.

Back to Earth and some years later

HICHIROU is now around 80 years old. He's at the hospital. It's night. Except for the necessary equipment the silence is complete. On a sofa near him, one of his sons sleeps. HICHIROU takes the kind of tablet gadget and looks at his father. He's at the same position since the moment that his hand let go of HICHIROU's hand. The vital signal are good, his father his great at his almost 40 years hold. HICHIROU is not that good, he's dying and fast. He feels death around him, knows is time to let go. He passes the tip of his fingers lightly over his father's face and whispers "I've always loved you, daddy, and I will love you forever and ever". Then he closed his eyes with the feeling some sounds started ringing at the distance.

In deep space, KEN carries on his suspended mission, driven by a ship that might or not wake him up. Yes, he knows he'll return, he just don't know when or to where. But, in suspended animation, no one thinks, no one feels, no one exists. CHO is there to take good care of him.

Carlos Geadas Lisbon, Portugal

As a listener, music always made part of my life. I enjoy all kinds of music as long as within it's kind is good.
In 2014 I've started playing with Garageband, generative software and a 25 key usb/midi keyboard. Since there I've found that I could express myself through music. The albuns I present here and at my Youtube channel are what I'm learning about painting or writing with sounds.
